Who Are We?
ArtReach is a community based organization that provides opportunity for diverse, creative art experiences. Our purpose is to encourage individual awareness and growth.
What Do We Do?
ArtReach has been instrumental in providing services to those of "all ages and stages of life." ArtReach makes it possible for participants to communicate and build self-esteem through their art.
A Decade of ArtReach
ArtReach was founded a decade ago by Carol Sweasy. The objective was to provide an outlet and exposure for local artists that would enable them to create art, to share it with others, and to teach classes. Central to the goals of ArtReach was the desire to serve the underserved in our community. ArtReach has offered a rich array of art experiences throughout the years and continues to evolve and
re-focus its mission according to the needs of the community.
How are we changing the community?
ArtReach is the only nonprofit organization whose primary focus is to provide access to the arts for underserved members of community. We have a core of committed, professional artists and volunteers that teach classes and facilitate programs designed to enhance and enrich self expression in a safe, relaxed atmosphere. We continue to offer art experiences at many community events and to seek collaboration with other organizatiions in the community.
How can you help?
ArtReach has received funding from the United Way, Jones Family Foundation, Anderson Center, Bill & Carol Sweasy, Red Wing Area Fund, Minneapolis Foundation, and other community and individual partners. Recently, ArtReach was selected as one of the agencies to receive a SteppsUp CCF award for 2010. Corporate money and grants from private foundations only complete part of our budget.
